Hanz was born on March 28, 1976 and is therefore the Benjamin of the band. He began his singing career in the infamous 'The Haemorrhoid Piles' in 1992, before learning to play the guitar to form the powerpop formation 'Tarragon'. In 1997 he met André, and that was the beginning of the Paper Moon era.

Influences? Amongst them are Nick Drake, Lemonheads, Daryll-Ann, Teenage Fanclub and of course the big B's Big Star, the Beatles and the Byrds. Nice to know: Hanz is the only one who ever performed live in a dress.
